There are lots of Lotteries in the World. Whatever you normally play, the
Spanish Lottery El Gordo will get your attention.
Beware
though - the only REAL EL GORDO is the Spanish one, held each July and
December. If you are contacted about an 'El Gordo' that
you have 'won (even though you didn't buy a ticket), be very careful
about sending any money. There are a lot of
bogus notifications sent out each month concerning a huge prize that has
been won. These are fraudulent, and will ultimately lead to a
demand for money up front. If you are contacted like this,
contract your police department.
Even if you only played this lottery on its two draw dates
(remember - ONLY in July and December of each year), you will still be playing for spectacular amounts of
money. It does not pay out the largest single prizes, but it
certainly pays out a lot of significant prizes.
There are thousands of prizes. Take a look at
all of them:

So can you participate in this Spanish El
Gordo? Yes, you certainly can, but it isn't going to be cheap. If
you ever go to Spain, it will be a lot cheaper.
Going to the
Spanish Internet site itself is fine if you can read Spanish. There is now
an engish site available
here. The
alternative of going to Spain
to pick up a couple of tickets can almost pay for itself - that's how much more
expensive it is to buy through an agent.
This draw is only held twice each year, in
July and December. They always sell out of tickets, so get in early if you
plan on participating.
